Molino
Operation
The Melitta Molino® is suitable for grinding roasted coffee beans. Caution: using unsuitable types of coffee beans can lead to blockages.
The Melitta Molino® has a disc grinder. This kind of coffee grinder has adjustable grinding fineness. Therefore, you can grind coffee for different types of preparation with the Melitta Molino®, e.g. espresso machines, filter coffeemakers, percolators and French presses. Since coffee grinders with a disc grinder produce more even grinding results than blade grinders, they are also particularly appreciated by coffee connoisseurs.
Oily residue is left from the coffee beans during coffee grinding. Over time fine grinding particles are also deposited. Thanks to the removable individual parts, the machine is quick and easy to clean.
The Melitta Molino® allows individual grinding fineness settings in a total of 17 steps. The grinding fineness settings range from 1 (very fine) to 17 (very coarse). The Melitta Molino® therefore grinds the coffee beans for any occasion – from finely ground coffee powder for aromatic espresso to medium fine coffee powder for filter coffee/hand-pouring to more course coffee powder for French presses.
The rotary regulator for setting the number of cups enables easy selection of the required amount from 2 to 14 cups. The Melitta Molino® then grinds the selected quantity of coffee powder.
The bean container on the Melitta Molino® has a removable lid and can be easily filled with a maximum quantity of 200 g coffee beans.
The grinding process is started with just one press of a button. As soon as the grinding process has been completed, the Melitta® Molino® switches off automatically.
The coffee grinder is designed for grinding coffee beans only. Make sure that there are no other objects or food in the appliance.
The Melitta Molino® has a power consumption of approximately 100 watts.
Roasted coffee is a sensitive natural product that can quickly lose its aroma if not stored properly. We therefore recommend that you do not store the opened package together with other strong-smelling foods. Also protect your coffee from sunlight, heat and moisture, as these factors can also have a negative effect on the flavour. The storage location should be cool, dry and odour-free. We also recommend that you do not fill the coffee beans into a different container, but keep them in their original packaging.
The quantity of ground coffee required depends on the type of bean, grinding fineness and the number of cups. Coffee flavour and strength are personal preferences. Try out which type of coffee beans, coffee quantity and grinding fineness setting are right for you. We recommend using 6 to 8 g of coffee powder per large cup. Only grind the quantity of coffee beans required for the brewing process, as the flavour and aroma of the coffee powder changes when stored in the open air or with other food.
Depending on the type of coffee and the preferred preparation method, we recommend the following grinding fineness settings for optimum coffee results: espresso: grinding fineness setting 1 to 3 filter coffee: grinding fineness setting 2 to 13 French press: grinding fineness setting 12 to 17
Problems
If you hear a shrill noise, coffee beans are stuck in the grinding chamber. Press the on/off switch and pull the plug out of the socket. Clean the appliance as described in your operating instructions. Note: avoid filling the collecting container completely, as this can cause a blockage in the appliance.
If the rotary regulator for setting the grinding fineness cannot be turned or is stiff, the grinder is blocked by the coffee beans in the bean container. Press the on/off switch to start the grinding process. Adjust the grinding fineness during the grinding process.
To ensure optimum grinding results, always switch the appliance off after use and allow the motor to cool down for at least 1 minute before using it again.
Cleaning & Care
Please clean the coffee grinder after each use. Always disconnect the mains plug before cleaning. Remove the collecting container with lid and the lid from the coffee bean container. Wipe the housing with a slightly damp cloth and then wipe dry. Always use a soft brush to clean the grinder. Do not use water or soap to clean it. Caution: never immerse the housing, mains lead, plug or grinder in water or other liquids. Do not use scouring milk, abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes for cleaning.
