Our brewing process ensures optimal development of the coffee flavour and thus excellent coffee enjoyment. Thanks to the pre-infusion function, the freshly ground coffee powder is dampened briefly before the actual brewing process, i.e. before your coffee is brewed with a perfectly adjusted contact time between the water and coffee.

Thanks to the “Bean to Cup” function, only the required bean quantity will be freshly ground and used for the selected coffee. Grinding the mill empty ensures that each cup is prepared with freshly ground beans, without the flavour being spoilt by the ground residue from previous beverages.* For an even more intense flavour, you can select the IntenseAroma function instead of the standard brewing profile without having to change the coffee or water quantity. To ensure that the aroma of the coffee beans is also retained in the bean container, the lid has been specially tinted dark and equipped with a special Aromasafe® seal. * Please note: despite automatic dosing and grinding the mill empty, minimal mixing of the bean varieties can occur after switch-over.

In addition to the brewing strength (five settings) and the grinding fineness (five settings), you can also adjust the temperature, coffee quantity and brewing profile to your individual taste. So you do not have to reset your personal coffee preferences every time you brew, the "My Coffee" function lets you save up to eight individual profiles. The “Double Cup” function allows you to prepare two cups of numerous coffee specialities at the same time with or without milk. The Connect app offers maximum individuality – with the FreeStyle function, you can create your very own recipes and become a home barista.

The four classics, espresso, café crème, cappuccino and latte macchiato, are selected directly with a single, light touch of the touch sensor button. You can select 17 additional coffee variations such as flat white, ristretto, americano and espresso doppio via the menu. The “Italian Preparation Process” in which the ingredients are combined in the correct order using an original Italian recipe, ensures a particularly authentic taste This means that, for latte macchiato, the espresso is added after the milk and the milk froth. For the cappuccino, it's the other way around.

The innovative Automatic Bean Select function selects the right bean type for your favourite coffee from the dual-chamber bean container either automatically or on request. Active coffee bean monitoring informs you in good time when you need to refill coffee beans. This prevents the grinder from running empty during coffee dispensing. The integrated ground coffee chute also allows you to use coffee that has already been ground.

Operation in a class of its own: With the "Touch & Slide" function, you can select and individualise selected coffee variations such as espresso, café crème, cappuccino and latte macchiato with just one touch - even during dispensing, if required. You can also dispense hot milk, milk froth and hot water simply and conveniently with one touch. The step-by-step instructions on the high-resolution TFT colour display ensure simple and intuitive operation.

The Melitta® Barista TS Smart® is easy to operate via the display. Alternatively you can also control this automatic coffee maker via the Melitta® Connect app. The app allows you to store personal profiles, change appliance settings and read tips on how to clean your automatic coffee maker. The special highlight: FreeStyle mode allowing you to become a home barista. You can customise the preparation sequence, the desired ratio of coffee, milk froth and hot water as well as other coffee settings.

“All in One” and still kept neatly apart: the separate nozzles in the dispensing outlet for coffee, milk and hot water allow simple preparation of a wide range of beverages. Very simply at the push of a button and without moving the cup. Glasses and tall cups also fit under the height-adjustable dispensing outlet (140 mm) – the integrated LED lighting presents your favourite coffee in the proper light and adds to the pleasant anticipation of your moment of coffee enjoyment.

For the sake of the environment: our Melitta® automatic coffeemakers have a practical Auto OFF function in addition to a programmable energy-saving mode. This allows you to set the automatic switch-off time for your coffeemaker – for particularly economic usage. Of course, you can alternatively switch the appliance off manually via the 0-Watt switch.

It is important to clean your automatic coffee maker on a regular basis to ensure it works perfectly, gives you the best coffee flavour and has a long life. The display on your Barista TS Smart® tells you when cleaning or descaling is required, and guides you through the process with simple step-by-step instructions. The brewing unit is simple to remove so you can also clean the interior easily. Furthermore, we recommend using a Melitta® Pro Aqua water filter. It filters the water every time you dispense a beverage ensuring true coffee flavour and optimal taste. It also prevents limescale deposits in the water circuit meaning you only need to descale your automatic coffee maker once a year.* * This figure is based on a 120 ml cup fill level with six dispensing processes per day and six filter changes according to the appliance information.

Since hygiene – above all with milk – plays a very important role, cleaning is particularly efficient and fast with this automatic coffee maker. The “Easy Steam Cleaning” function featured in the Barista TS Smart® cleans all parts of the milk system hygienically with hot water and steam at the touch of a button. The milk system is also removable. The milk container supplied can be connected to the right or left of the dispensing outlet, easily stored in the refrigerator and cleaned in the dishwasher.
